A call from the Zapatistas, Oct 30th 2006: "...the EZLN calls out to the Other Campaign in Mexico and north of the Rio Grande, so that these November 1st mobilizations happen wherever possible, completely, partially, at intervals or symbolically... "
By taking the actions listed below, at a bare minimum, towards our local Mexican consulates' communications devices we force people directly connected and in constant interaction with relevant parts of the Mexican government to fully understand that there is an angry mass outside their country which does not approve of their repressive deeds in Oaxaca and is willing to resist them on all fronts.
We are asking that you and your associated organization take the following three actions systematically and repeatedly beginning today November 1st and ending November 4th. For a full list of phone numbers, fax numbers, addresses, and websites of Mexican consulates, check http://www.mexonline.com/consulate.htm
1) Call your local Mexican consulate right now. Call again and again until you feel sure the whole Mexican government gets your point. Organize phone calling sessions with others. Call with your own spontaneous message and/or stand in solidarity with the Zapatistas and demand the following:
Immediate withdrawal of the occupying Federal Forces from Oaxaca!
Immediate and unconditional freedom for all detainees!
Cancel all arrest warrants!
Punish the murderers!
Justice! Freedom! Democracy!
2) Send faxes from any available fax machine to your local Mexican consulate with the attached black document in 8''x11'' format or send a similar message with very little white areas. Incidentally, massive black areas in faxes take up a great deal of printer ink. If you fax this message many many times you can be sure it gets to them.
3) Leave this electronic blockade of Mexican embassies and consulates on your computer, your friend's computer, and all other computers you encounter:
http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/oaxaca2/index.php You can open up multiple instances of this url on your computer at once, of course, which will take up a proportionate amount of bandwidth.
This call made by the New York Metro Alliance of Anarchists (NYMAA) Global Nets working group, adherents of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle and the Other Campaign.
