Hello NYMAA,
Get out your spectacles and highlighters. We are forming a NYMAA Reading Group.
Six of us met this Friday evening and had an enthusiastic and enlightening discussion of Murray Bookchin's "Post-Scarcity Anarchism". We had so much fun, we have decided to make it official: we will meet monthly for discussions based on our readings in anarchist history, theory, and practice. Anarchists and quasi-anarchists of all stripes are welcome.

Hello everyone,
First, I wanted to say that I had a truly fantastic time at the last GA. The energy and enthusiasm everyone showed was really fantastic and I hope we get the chance to gather and discuss again. This is probably the first GA that ended with me wanting to go to another. :)

As part of The Other Campaign, Movement for Justice in El Barrio is a grassroots immigrant organization fighting against gentrification and for justice in New York City. We are an organization committed to being truly rooted in our community base of El Barrio. For many years, the zapatistas have consulted their own community base for organizational decisions and direction. Movement for Justice in El Barrio also believes it is of utmost importance to integrate community led democratic principles within our own organizing efforts.

You know it's really summer when school is out, the World Cup is over, the bulls of Pamploma have run (they scored big this year), and anarchists can celebrate the Fourth of July -- the Fourth General Assembly of NYMAA -- The New York Metro Alliance of Anarchists -- that is! There may not be any fireworks, but hopefully our agenda and hot new format will get you fired up. What better way to beat the heat and show off your svelte summer physique than spending an afternoon with a crew of really cool people!
